**Louis Tan: A Passionate Advocate for Child Passenger Safety**
Louis Tan’s journey into the world of child safety began in 2004 when he and his wife embarked on a part-time venture in the baby industry. With a shared passion for ensuring the well-being of children, the couple dedicated their time and energy to understanding the intricacies of this industry. Louis’s interest was piqued by the critical role of car seats in ensuring child safety, a subject that would soon become his primary focus and lifelong passion.
In 2009, Louis made the decision to commit full-time to the baby industry, a move that allowed him to delve deeper into his passion for child safety. He established LittleWhiz.com, an online and retail shop that offers a wide range of baby products. LittleWhiz.com quickly became a trusted source for parents seeking quality and safety in products for their little ones.
However, Louis’s commitment to child safety extended far beyond his retail venture. Recognizing the importance of proper car seat usage, he began his journey into car seat training work in 2015. His goal was to ensure that parents and caregivers had access to the right information and resources to keep their children safe on the road.
In 2016, Louis co-founded Child Passenger Safety Malaysia (CPSM), an organization dedicated to promoting the safe transportation of children. CPSM’s mission resonated with parents across the country, and the organization quickly became a leading voice in child passenger safety. He then resign in 2018 as due to focusing more on his business and car seat training.
Louis’s commitment to child safety took him across the globe to Los Angeles, USA, in 2017. There, he underwent intensive Child Passenger Safety Technician Training by SafeKids Worldwide, a globally recognized organization dedicated to preventing childhood injury in moving vehicle. This training equipped Louis with the skills and knowledge to educate others about the importance of child passenger safety.
In 2019, Louis’s dedication and expertise were recognized when he became a Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor (CPSTI). This role allowed him to train others in the proper installation and use of car seats, amplifying his impact and reaching more families.
Kind Safety, established in 2019, was born out of a profound commitment to child safety. Recognizing the crucial role that Child Restraint Systems (CRS) play in protecting young passengers, the organization set out to educate parents on their correct usage. The mission of Kind Safety is to ensure that every journey taken with a child on board is as safe as possible. Through comprehensive education and guidance, Kind Safety empowers parents to make informed decisions about the Child Restraint Systems they use, ultimately contributing to the reduction of risks associated with road travel for children.
That same year, Louis also became one of the Core Trainer in the Malaysia Child Occupant Safety Training Program (MycostP) with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). This role further solidified his position as a leading expert in child passenger safety in Malaysia.
Louis’s objective has always been clear: to share the right information about car seat usage. He firmly believes that knowledge is the key to ensuring the safety of children on the road. His tireless efforts to educate parents and caregivers have made a significant difference in the lives of countless families.
Today, Louis continues to advocate for child passenger safety through his work with LittleWhiz.com, and MycostP. His dedication to his cause is evident in his relentless pursuit of knowledge and his commitment to sharing that knowledge with others. Louis’s journey is a testament to the impact that one person’s passion can have on the safety and well-being of children everywhere.
Through his work, Louis Tan has become more than just a car seat trainer. He is a trusted advisor, an educator, and a passionate advocate for child safety. His story serves as an inspiration for all those committed to making the world a safer place for children.
